AgeConversion

Most people believe that one human year is equivalent to seven dog years.

In 2020, Wang et al. conducted a comparison of DNA methylation data between dogs and humans of different ages and derived a formula for converting dog age to human age:

human_age = 16ln⁡(dog_age) + 31

This work was published in CELL SYSTEMS at 2020 by Wang et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cels.2020.06.006).

In 2022, Horvath et al. present the human–dog dual species epigenetic clocks. After conversion, a human-dog age conversion formula can also be obtained:

human_age = (dog_age + 1.5)*(h + 1.5)/(d + 1.5) - 1.5, where h=13.5, d=1.83287671232877

Here we provide a small tool to make it easier for users to perform single or batch age conversions.
